Circle Boosts USDC Utility Through Hyperliquid Integration for Seamless Cross-Chain DeFi
Circle has unveiled a strategic partnership with Hyperliquid to integrate native USDC support using its Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) v2. This collaboration removes the necessity for wrapped tokens or centralized bridges, facilitating smooth cross-chain transactions for trading, swaps, and treasury management.
Hyperliquid's rapid ecosystem expansion—highlighted by its $5.5 billion in assets under management (AUM) as of July—aligns with growing demand for interoperable DeFi infrastructure. USDC will function both as collateral for perpetual contracts and a quote asset for spot trading, though the specific launch date has not been disclosed.
The market has responded positively, with Hyperliquid's native token, HYPE, seeing price gains post-announcement. The delayed release of mainnet/testnet address details indicates ongoing technical refinements.
